Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience. –Ralph Waldo Emerson
Welcome to Ponyland Farm, a small, woman-owned permaculture farm. My name is Kari King and I am farming outside Pony, Montana on family land where pesticides haven’t been used in over two decades. I practice permaculture, sustainable and regenerative growing practices, no chemical fertilizers or pesticides, use natural soil enhancement, recycled materials, and source local products as much as possible. I personally do all planting, growing, and harvesting by hand without machines or mechanization.
My first commercial products are a broad range of heirloom garlic varieties. Native trees have been planted in an orchard nursery, and will yield apples, plums, and cherries.
For a number of reasons I made the heartbreaking decision to find fabulous new homes for my beloved Maremma, donkeys, goats and chickens over the past year. I’ve chosen to leave the information pages about them up on this website for the time-being as an homage to the animals who gifted me with some of the most cherished moments and memories of my life. I’m happy to share what I learned raising, training and interacting with these particular species and breeds.
I welcome inquiries about permaculture practices, my farm and products, and farm visits can be scheduled by emailing: ponylandfarm@gmail.com or contact us.
When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe. -John Muir
